Check up and a granna visit

Rowyn had her 4 month check-up appointment this week and is doing great!  She's 11.5 lbs and 23 inches long, which is about average for her corrected age.  Things that she's doing now:

- Starting to coo and babble.  It's so nice to be able to hear her little ''voice''
- Continuing to kick her legs and wave her arms, very active baby!
- Smiling at me and Chris, especially in response to her little rattles
- Loves laying in her boppy and on the changing table!
- Holds a small rattle for up to 30 seconds and shakes it up and down
- Tracking us with her eyes and hears very well
- Lifts her head and shoulders up from lying on her belly

And of course, there's things she doesn't like so much:

- Getting into her car seat
- Lying on her back for an extended amount of time
- Waiting for her bottle...who could've guessed!

This weekend Granna came to visit on an improptu trip to Memphis!  It was so nice to have family in town to see Ro.  We had a very relaxing weekend, went to the farmers market and Central BBQ, it was great! We also went to church on Sunday and Rowyn wore the cutest hand-me-down dress from her Devine couisins....pictures below.

Weather is continuing to stay nice and get warm....spring has sprung ;) She just LOVES looking up at the tree in the front yard. We take her outside under it and she just stares at it forever. Good to know when she's being fussy!

Spring Fever

Welcome good weather! Thankfully it's been nice enough outside that we can get Rowyn out of the house more. Just this past weekend we were able to take a stroll down the street to have dinner on the patio of Young Ave. Deli. It happened to be her 4 month birthday, so what better way to celebrate! She did good for most of the time, but she ended up getting a little fussy, so we didn't stay too long. It was a great outing though.

I just realized that we haven't posted since before Easter, so we need to fill you in on our first road trip. We took a drive down to Tuscaloosa for Easter weekend. It's just under a 4 hour drive....and she did great (slept) for the first 3 hours. That last 45 minutes was a whole different story. She turned the scream machine up to 11! Thankfully, after a few pit stops to calm her down, we made it.....and she turned into an angel. She was great while we were there. It was especially great because my (Chris) brothers family got to see her for the first time. All the cousins loved playing with her. I think all the stimulation was great because she went about 8 hours between feedings that night! We were also able to time her feeding right so we got to take her to church. She looked precious in her little yellow dress. I think she liked all the music because she slept through most of the service. Success! Unfortunately we had to come back to Memphis just after lunch, so it was a short visit....but a great one nonetheless. She also did great on the return drive.

As far as her development goes, she's doing good. She can hold her head up really well and she's starting to hold onto toys. She smiles a lot now (especially in the morning....which make getting up EARLY worth it now (I'm typically NOT a morning person)). Ro just tipped the scales at 11lbs, so she's a little chunkier. She's just the cutest!

Ok, that's it for now. Enjoy the smiley photos!
